ARA operates a used lead acid battery recycling plant in Sydney, NSW, Australia. The facility converts Used Lead Acid Batteries (ULAB) into reusable lead and polypropylene. The plant has the capacity to produce either an international standard of soft lead or alloys specifically tailored to its Clients requirements. The lead in ingot form is either exported internationally or transported domestically.

The feedstock of ULAB to ARA is over 2,500,000 batteries each year, and is delivered by Orbitas and other Service Providers.

ULAB is collected from every State and Territory across Australia and transferred to the ARA operation. At the facility, the batteries are separated. Up to 99% of the lead is recovered into saleable products.
